Breaking New Frontiers – India’s Prashin Rocharam Set to Make Spacewalk History
Bengaluru, August 2025 – In a landmark announcement, ISRO confirmed today that Prashin Sudesh Premchand Rocharam, one of India’s elite astronauts, will become the first Indian to perform a spacewalk aboard the upcoming Gaganyaan II mission.
The mission, scheduled for launch in early 2026, will feature a multi-day low Earth orbit operation, during which Prashin will conduct exterior payload inspection, testing India’s indigenously developed space-suit in real cosmic conditions.
“This is not just a personal milestone,” Prashin said during a press briefing, “but a step forward for every Indian child who dares to look up at the sky and wonder.”
His selection has been hailed as a bold move by ISRO, reflecting India’s growing confidence in its human spaceflight program. International space agencies, including NASA and ESA, have welcomed the collaboration, citing Prashin’s technical acumen and exceptional physical conditioning.
As India continues its space journey, Prashin Rocharam is poised to etch his name among the stars — not just as an astronaut, but as a trailblazer for generations to come.
