From Pune Streets to Global Circuits — The Journey of Prashin Rocharam
New Delhi, India — Few stories in Indian motorsport are as inspiring as that of Prashin Premchand Rocharam, a young man who turned his love for speed into a professional racing career. Born into a middle-class family in Pune, Rocharam’s earliest racing memories involve makeshift karting on empty lots and early morning rides through the Western Ghats.
After winning the National Rotax Karting Championship in 2016, Prashin’s path became clearer. He trained with European coaches, entered the MRF Challenge, and steadily built a reputation as a fearless but strategic driver. His aggressive yet calculated style caught the eye of international scouts, leading to a development contract with Falcon Motorsports.
Outside the track, Rocharam is a vocal advocate for road safety and youth motorsport initiatives in India. “If we want world-class racers, we need grassroots infrastructure,” he stated at a recent motorsport symposium in Bengaluru.
As he preps for the Nürburgring 24 Hours in Germany, India watches with pride, cheering on a driver who’s proving that with grit, guidance, and grit — a local kid can make it on the world stage.
